85c3453284 i2c: qcom-geni: fix I2C frequency table to achieve accurate bus rates
Update the I2C frequency table to match the recommended values
specified in the I2C hardware programming guide. In the current IPQ5424
configuration where 32MHz is the source clock, the I2C bus frequencies do
not meet expectations—for instance, 363KHz is achieved instead of the
expected 400KHz.

494fed6809 i2c: qcom-geni: Simplify error handling in probe function
Avoid repeating the error handling pattern:

        geni_se_resources_off(&gi2c->se);

Introduce a single 'goto' exit label for cleanup in case of

After commit 0edb555a65 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()

Convert all platform drivers below drivers/i2c to use .remove(), with
the eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As
.remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is done

I2C core
 ========

 After 15 years of deprecation, the I2C_COMPAT symbol has finally been
 removed. Also client addresses are now locked during initialization to
 prevent race conditions between different kinds of instantiation. Scoped
 foreach OF child loops are now used. And the testunit has received some
 cleanups and documentation improvements as well as two new tests, one
 for repeated start and one for triggering SMBusAlert interrupts.

 I2C host drivers
 ================

 The DesignWare and the Renesas I2C drivers have received most of
 the changes in this pull request.

 The first has has undergone through a series of cleanups that
 have been sent to the mailing list a year ago for the first time
 and finally get merged in this pull request. They are many, from
 typos (e.g. i2/i2c), to cosmetics, to refactoring (e.g. move
 inline functions to librarieas) and many others.

 Besides that, all the DesignWare Kconfig options have been
 grouped under the I2C_DESIGNWARE_CORE and this required some
 adaptation in many of the kernel configuration files for
 different arm and mips boards.

 Follows the list of the rest of the changes grouped by type of
 change.

 Cleanups
 --------
 The Qualcomm Geni platform improves the exit path in the runtime
 resume function.

 The Intel LJCA driver loses "target_addr" parameter in
 ljca_i2c_stop() because it was unused.

 The MediaTek controller intializes the restart_flag in the
 transfer function using the ternary conditional operator ("? :")
 instead of initializing it in different parts.

 Constified a few global data structures in the virtio driver.

 The Renesas driver simplifies the bus speed handling in the init
 function making it more readable.

 Improved an if/else statement in probe function of the Renesas
 R-Car driver.

 The iMX/MXC driver switches to using the RUNTIME_PM_OPS() instead
 of SET_RUNTIME_PM_OPS().

 Still in the iMX/MXC driver a comma ',' has been replaced by a
 semicolon ';', while in different drivers the ',' has been
 removed from the '{ }' delimiters.

 Finally three devm_clk_get_enabled() have been used to simplify
 the devm_clk_get/clk_prepare_enable tuple in the Renesas EMEV2,
 Ingenic and MPC drivers.

 Refactors
 ---------
 The Nuvoton fixes a potential out of boundary array access. This
 is not a bug fix because the issue could never occur due to
 hardware not having the properties listed in the array. The
 change makes the driver more future proof and, at the same time,
 silences code analyzers.

 Improvements
 ------------
 The Renesas I2C (riic) driver undergoes several patches improving
 the runtime power management handling.

 The Intel i801 driver uses a more descriptive adapter's name to
 show the presence of the IDF feature.

 In the Intel Denverton (ismt) adapter the pending transactions
 are killed when irq's can't complete their handling, triggering a
 timeout. This could have been considered as a bug fix, but
 because, standing to Vasily, it's very sporadic, I preferred
 considering the patch rather as an improvement.

 New Feature
 -----------
 The Renesas I2C (riic) driver now supports the fast mode plus.

 New support
 -----------
 Added support for:

     - Renesas R9A08G045
     - Rockchip RK3576
     - KEBA I2C
     - Theobroma Systems Mule Multiplexer.

 The Keba comes with a new driver, i2c-keba.c.
 The Mule is an i2c multiplexer and it also comes with a new
 driver, mux/i2c-mux-mule.c.

 Core patch
 ----------
 This pull request includes also a patch in the I2C framework, in
 i2c-core-base.c where the runtime PM functions have been replaced
 in order to allow to be accessed during the device add.

 Devicetree
 ----------
 Some cleanups in the devicetree, as well. nVidia and Qualcomm
 bindings improve their "if:then:" blocks. While the aspeed
 binding loses the "multi-master" property because it was
 redundant.

 The i2c-sprd binding has been converted to YAML.

83ef106fa7 i2c: qcom-geni: Correct I2C TRE sequence
For i2c read operation in GSI mode, we are getting timeout
due to malformed TRE basically incorrect TRE sequence
in gpi(drivers/dma/qcom/gpi.c) driver.

I2C driver has geni_i2c_gpi(I2C_WRITE) function which generates GO TRE and
geni_i2c_gpi(I2C_READ)generates DMA TRE. Hence to generate GO TRE before
DMA TRE, we should move geni_i2c_gpi(I2C_WRITE) before
geni_i2c_gpi(I2C_READ) inside the I2C GSI mode transfer function
i.e. geni_i2c_gpi_xfer().

TRE stands for Transfer Ring Element - which is basically an element with
size of 4 words. It contains all information like slave address,
clk divider, dma address value data size etc).

Mainly we have 3 TREs(Config, GO and DMA tre).
- CONFIG TRE : consists of internal register configuration which is
               required before start of the transfer.
- DMA TRE : contains DDR/Memory address, called as DMA descriptor.
- GO TRE : contains Transfer directions, slave ID, Delay flags, Length
               of the transfer.

I2c driver calls GPI driver API to config each TRE depending on the
protocol.

For read operation tre sequence will be as below which is not aligned
to hardware programming guide.

- CONFIG tre
- DMA tre
- GO tre

As per Qualcomm's internal Hardware Programming Guide, we should configure
TREs in below sequence for any RX only transfer.

- CONFIG tre
- GO tre
- DMA tre

e190a0c389 i2c: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored
and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a
quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this
quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns
void.

this stored DMA mapping data can be used to call geni_se_tx_dma_unprep
and geni_se_rx_dma_unprep functions.

Add two helper functions geni_i2c_rx_msg_cleanup and
geni_i2c_tx_msg_cleanup to unwrap the things after rx/tx FIFO/DMA
transfers, so that the same can be used in geni_i2c_stop_xfer()
function during shutdown callback.

9cb4c67d77 Revert "i2c: i2c-qcom-geni: Fix DMA transfer race"
This reverts commit 02b9aec592.

As talked about in the patch ("soc: qcom: geni: More properly switch
to DMA mode"), swapping the order of geni_se_setup_m_cmd() and
geni_se_xx_dma_prep() can sometimes cause corrupted transfers. Thus
we traded one problem for another. Now that we've debugged the
problem further and fixed the geni helper functions to more disable
FIFO interrupts when we move to DMA mode we can revert it and end up
with (hopefully) zero problems!

To be explicit, the patch ("soc: qcom: geni: More properly switch
to DMA mode") is a prerequisite for this one.

822ef14e9d ARM: SoC driver updates for v5.9
A couple of subsystems have their own subsystem maintainers but choose
 to have the code merged through the soc tree as upstream, as the code
 tends to be used across multiple SoCs or has SoC specific drivers itself:

  - memory controllers:
      Krzysztof Kozlowski takes ownership of the drivers/memory
      subsystem and its drivers, starting out with a set of cleanup
      patches.
      A larger driver for the Tegra memory controller that was accidentally
      missed for v5.8 is now added.

  - reset controllers:
      Only minor updates to drivers/reset this time

  - firmware:
      The "turris mox" firmware driver gains support for signed firmware blobs
      The tegra firmware driver gets extended to export some debug information
      Various updates to i.MX firmware drivers, mostly cosmetic

  - ARM SCMI/SCPI:
      A new mechanism for platform notifications is added, among a number
      of minor changes.

  - optee:
      Probing of the TEE bus is rewritten to better support detection of
      devices that depend on the tee-supplicant user space.
      A new firmware based trusted platform module (fTPM) driver is added
      based on OP-TEE

  - SoC attributes:
      A new driver is added to provide a generic soc_device for identifying
      a machine through the SMCCC ARCH_SOC_ID firmware interface rather than
      by probing SoC family specific registers.
      The series also contains some cleanups to the common soc_device code.

 There are also a number of updates to SoC specific drivers,
 the main ones are:

  - Mediatek cmdq driver gains a few in-kernel interfaces

  - Minor updates to Qualcomm RPMh, socinfo, rpm drivers, mostly adding
    support for additional SoC variants

  - The Qualcomm GENI core code gains interconnect path voting and
    performance level support, and integrating this into a number of
    device drivers.

  - A new driver for Samsung Exynos5800 voltage coupler for

  - Renesas RZ/G2H (R8A774E1) SoC support gets added to a couple of SoC
    specific device drivers

  - Updates to the TI K3 Ring Accelerator driver

02b9aec592 i2c: i2c-qcom-geni: Fix DMA transfer race
When I have KASAN enabled on my kernel and I start stressing the
touchscreen my system tends to hang. The touchscreen is one of the
only things that does a lot of big i2c transfers and ends up hitting
the DMA paths in the geni i2c driver. It appears that KASAN adds
enough delay in my system to tickle a race condition in the DMA setup
code.

When the system hangs, I found that it was running the geni_i2c_irq()
over and over again. It had these:

m_stat   = 0x04000080
rx_st    = 0x30000011
dm_tx_st = 0x00000000
dm_rx_st = 0x00000000
dma      = 0x00000001

Notably we're in DMA mode but are getting M_RX_IRQ_EN and
M_RX_FIFO_WATERMARK_EN over and over again.

Putting some traces in geni_i2c_rx_one_msg() showed that when we
failed we were getting to the start of geni_i2c_rx_one_msg() but were
never executing geni_se_rx_dma_prep().

I believe that the problem here is that we are starting the geni
command before we run geni_se_rx_dma_prep(). If a transfer makes it
far enough before we do that then we get into the state I have
observed. Let's change the order, which seems to work fine.

Although problems were seen on the RX path, code inspection suggests
that the TX should be changed too. Change it as well.
